YoungShip Bergen is now seeking dedicated and enthusiastic professionals to join our board and help shape the future of our organization.
At our upcoming Annual General Assembly in January, we will elect six(!) new board members and two deputy members to fill in the following positions:
- Vice Chair (2-year term)
- Head of Events (2-year term)
- Head of Sponsors (2-year term)
- Head of Membership (1-year term)
- 2x Deputy member (1-year term)
What we’re looking for and benefits of joining the board:
We are seeking proactive, responsible, and ambitious professionals with a genuine passion for the maritime industry. As a board member, you will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of YoungShip Bergen, and ensure its continued growth and relevance in the maritime industry of Bergen. This is an exciting opportunity to expand your professional network within the maritime sector, collaborate with leading industry stakeholders, and develop leadership and organizational skills. You will also gain valuable experience of contributing to an impactful organization - and, of course, you get to have plenty of fun along the way!
How to apply:
If you are interested in joining the board, please submit a brief application to bergen@youngship.com containing an introduction of yourself, why you are applying and an outline of any relevant experience. Please also state which position(s) you might be interested in, if any in particular.
The deadline for applications is 1 December 2025. Applications may be submitted in Norwegian or English.
All applicants will be evaluated by the election committee, which will present the new board for approval at our Annual General Meeting. Do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions regarding the positions.

Wikborg Rein x YoungShip - Negotiation Workshop
Dear members,
We are repeating last year’s success and welcome you to an evening focused on negotiations, hosted by YoungShip Bergen and Wikborg Rein. This time, we are fortunate to have both Advokat Geir Ove Røberg and Advokat Morten Valen Eide, who will talk about negotiation tactics that can be used in various situations and professions. We will also discuss cases and practice our negotiation skills together.
Geir Ove has worked at Wikborg Rein for 40 years and has led several international contractual negotiations, as well as assisted in large projects related to shipping and financing. Morten is the head of the Shipping Offshore team in Bergen and Stavanger. As part of his practice, he has led many international negotiations in high value matters and disputes.
The presentation is held in Norwegian.
