YoungShip Cyprus held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 4 March 2026 at the Columbia Plaza Venue Centre in Limassol, which included the organisation’s biennial elections for the new Board.

YoungShip Cyprus Secretary General, Ms. Antria Dionysiou, guided the numerous attendees throughout the evening. The event began with a welcome address from YoungShip Cyprus President, Mr. Andreas Christoforou, who expressed his sincere appreciation to the esteemed guests, representatives of fellow organisations, and YoungShip members for their continued support, guidance, and mentorship. As he noted, such support is “invaluable as we navigate the uncharted waters of our careers and strive to make our mark on the world.”

Ms. Georgia Evripidou then presented the organisation’s activities for 2025 as well as the action plan for 2026, which was unanimously approved by the members present. The members also unanimously approved the financial statements and the proposed annual budget, presented by YoungShip Cyprus Financial Secretary, Ms. Fotini Papachatzaki.

During the evening, appreciation was also expressed to the outgoing members of the Board who will be concluding their terms. President Mr. Andreas Christoforou, Vice President Ms. Eliana Savvidi, Secretary General Ms. Antria Dionysiou, and Financial Secretary Ms. Fotini Papachatzaki are stepping down from their respective roles after their dedicated service and valuable contributions to the organisation.

The evening concluded with the introduction of the candidates for the new Board, sparking an engaging and constructive exchange with the audience. Following the elections and the conclusion of the AGM, the YoungShip Cyprus Board for the 2026–2028 term was formed as follows:

  • President: Tobias Kreppel
  • Vice President: Lefteris Charalambous
  • General Secretary: Marvin Bielek
  • Assistant Secretary: Panayiotis Charalambous
  • Financial Secretary: Georgia Evripidou
  • Program Development Secretary: Daniel Ellinas

Young Leader Award 2026

YoungShip Cyprus proudly hosted its highly anticipated Young Leader Award Ceremony during the Melodies Across the Sea event on 6th February 2026 at Limassol New Port. The evening brought together members of the maritime community, industry leaders, and young professionals to celebrate excellence, leadership, and the promising future of our industry.

The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Young Leader Award — an honor bestowed upon an individual who serves as an inspiration to young professionals in the maritime sector and who has continuously supported the mission and activities of YoungShip Cyprus.

The award was presented by Mr. Andreas Christoforou, Chairman of YoungShip Cyprus, who in his opening remarks emphasized the importance of mentorship, innovation, and professional development. He highlighted the vital role young leaders play in shaping a sustainable and forward-looking maritime industry.

We are proud to announce that this year’s Young Leader Award was presented to Mr. Theodoros Mitsingas.

Theodoros is an outstanding professional whose unwavering commitment to his team and his role at Monjasa reflects intelligence, dedication, and strong leadership qualities. A natural leader and role model for younger professionals, he bridges the gap between experienced industry figures and the new generation, inspiring others through hard work, consistency, and a forward-looking mindset.

Since joining global oil and shipping group Monjasa in 2013, he has played a pivotal role in building the company’s regional footprint bottom-up. His achievements include establishing and expanding Monjasa’ s Mediterranean presence from 2 to around 25 employees, as well as opening the Athens office to strengthen the Group’s presence in a major shipping market. He has driven diversification, managed complex operations, contributed to securing regional and international business and fostered one of the youngest and most dynamic teams in the industry — demonstrating a clear commitment to long-term success and sustainable growth.

Beyond the award presentation, the ceremony provided an engaging platform for networking and collaboration, reinforcing the strong sense of community that defines YoungShip Cyprus.

We extend our warmest congratulations to Theodoros Mitsingas on this well-deserved recognition and thank all our members and guests who joined us in celebrating leadership and excellence within our industry.
