As an interest organization and meeting place for young professionals across the maritime sector, YoungShip Stavanger brings together members working within shipping, offshore oil and gas, aquaculture, renewable energy, shipbroking, maritime logistics, ports, shipyards, maritime research, service providers, and related industries. The organization hosts a range of professional and social events, including industry presentations, networking gatherings, and vessel visits, creating a platform for knowledge sharing, professional development, and stronger connections across the maritime community.

About YoungShip Stavanger

Stavanger may be known as Norway’s oil capital, but the city’s maritime roots run far deeper than the offshore industry. For generations, shipping, fisheries, and international trade have shaped the region and built a strong maritime community. Many of Norway’s leading shipowners started here, including Sigval Bergesen Sr. and Sigval Bergesen Jr., two of the most influential figures in Norwegian shipping history. Their legacy remains an important part of Stavanger’s identity and continues to inspire new generations working across the maritime industry today.
