On July 25, 2026, early morning on a weekend, YoungShip Bangladesh hosted a special edition of eBook Talks, where Mr. Mohammad Nazmuzzaman Hye , FHEA, CMILT🇧🇩, Lecturer in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at Dhofar University (Oman), guided our community through his eBook, Shipping Logistics Management, transforming complex maritime concepts into practical industry knowledge.
Rather than simply explaining shipping, the session connected the dots between global trade, freight markets, ports, terminals, logistics networks, sustainability, and the future of maritime logistics.
Some of the key takeaways included:
⚓ Why shipping is a derived demand driven by global trade, not the other way around.
📈 How freight markets move through predictable cycles, and why understanding those cycles matters for industry professionals.
🚢 Practical frameworks like SCOPE, INTERMODAL, PROFIT, and the 7Rs, showing how real-world decisions are made in fleet planning, port operations, and supply chain management.
🌍 Lessons from today's maritime challenges, from geopolitical disruptions to smart ports, digitalisation, resilience, and the industry's journey toward net-zero emissions.
Most importantly, the session reminded us that maritime isn't just about ships. It's about systems, strategy, and continuous learning.
The keynote was followed by an engaging Rapid Fire Round and an interactive Live Q&A Session, where participants explored topics beyond the slides — including live discussion of real-world cases like the Baltimore bridge incident — discussing careers, emerging industry trends, and practical applications of the concepts presented.

YoungShip Bangladesh was proudly represented at ShipCon Copenhagen 2026, where our Founding Chairman, Tanjil Ahmed Ruhullah FCILT, BSc (Hons), LLB (Lond.), joined maritime professionals, industry leaders, and young shipping executives from around the world for three days of learning, collaboration, and meaningful dialogue.
Hosted by YoungShip Denmark, ShipCon 2026 brought together participants from across the global maritime community to explore some of the industry's most pressing topics, including artificial intelligence, digital transformation, ESG, sustainability, geopolitics, and the future of maritime careers. The conference also provided an exceptional platform for networking, knowledge sharing, and strengthening international partnerships.
A defining highlight of the conference was the YoungShip International Annual General Meeting (AGM), where Tanjil Ahmed Ruhullah was elected to the YoungShip International Board as Regional Representative for Asia & Middle East, becoming the first Bangladeshi to serve on the organization's global board.

The election took place during YoungShip International's Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Copenhagen, Denmark on June 17, 2026,
This remarkable achievement reflects Tanjil's commitment to professional development, youth engagement, and international collaboration in the maritime industry. His election is not only a personal milestone but also a significant recognition of Bangladesh's growing influence within the global maritime industry.
As Regional Representative, Tanjil will serve on the YoungShip International Board, representing members across Asia and the Middle East and contributing to the strategic direction and growth of the global YoungShip network.

Anchor of Growth: Diversifying Exports Through Mid-Sized Shipbuilding
YoungShip Bangladesh, in collaboration with Global Chamber® Dhaka, Movementum Consultancy and Facilitation Group (MCFG), and Interport Advisory Services, successfully hosted an industry dialogue titled “Anchor of Growth: Diversifying Exports Through Mid-Sized Shipbuilding” at Hotel Bengal Blueberry, Gulshan.
The session convened policymakers, industry leaders, financial institutions, and maritime professionals to explore how Bangladesh’s mid-sized shipbuilding sector can drive export diversification, employment generation, and industrial competitiveness 🚢📈.

The session was facilitated by Ms. Gayathri Karunanayake, Director & CEO of Consultszone (Pvt) Ltd., Vice Chairperson (South Asia) of WiLAT Global, and Vice Chairperson of CILT Sri Lanka. She delivered an engaging and insightful session, sharing valuable perspectives on supply chain agility, digital transformation, performance-driven logistics, and future-ready operations in the Shipping and Logistics sectors.
The event brought together members from leading maritime companies in Bangladesh, along with stakeholders from banks, trading houses, and related sectors, fostering vibrant discussions and meaningful knowledge exchange.

We were warmly welcomed by Mr. SM Moinul Islam, Country Manager of Tysers Bangladesh, along with the Senior Manager of the Hull and P&I team, Mr Sk Monirul Islam. During the session, Ms. Zarin Tasnim Enam, Assistant Manager and Mr. Md. Syful Islam Bipul, Assistant Manager from Tysers Bangladesh Hull and P&I team delivered a comprehensive presentation on their company profile, offering valuable insights into their operations, global network, and expertise in marine insurance solutions and risk management.

This year marked Nor-Shipping’s 60th anniversary, a milestone that honored the industry’s enduring legacy and evolving vision. At the heart of the celebration was the commitment to innovation, sustainability, and collaboration across borders.
A standout moment from the event was the presentation of the Young Entrepreneur Award 2025 to Alisha Fredriksson CEO and Co-Founder of Seabound in recognition of her pioneering work in maritime carbon capture. The award itself—an antique telescope—carried a story of its own. Sourced from a historic ship recycling yard in Chittagong, Bangladesh, now embracing greener practices, it served as a symbol of maritime heritage and forward-looking perspective. It was a small but meaningful contribution from our end, made possible through the global spirit fostered by YoungShip International.
