🔭 Honoring Legacy, Embracing the Future – Nor-Shipping 2025 🌊⚓

President of YoungShip Bangladesh, Tanjil Ahmed Ruhullah FCILT BSc (Hons) LLB (Lond.) , had the privilege of attending Nor-Shipping 2025 in Oslo, partnered by YoungShip International —a remarkable gathering where the maritime world came together to celebrate six decades of progress while setting its sights firmly on the future.

This year marked Nor-Shipping’s 60th anniversary, a milestone that honored the industry’s enduring legacy and evolving vision. At the heart of the celebration was the commitment to innovation, sustainability, and collaboration across borders.

A standout moment from the event was the presentation of the Young Entrepreneur Award 2025 to Alisha Fredriksson CEO and Co-Founder of Seabound in recognition of her pioneering work in maritime carbon capture. The award itself—an antique telescope—carried a story of its own. Sourced from a historic ship recycling yard in Chittagong, Bangladesh, now embracing greener practices, it served as a symbol of maritime heritage and forward-looking perspective. It was a small but meaningful contribution from our end, made possible through the global spirit fostered by YoungShip International.

Nor-Shipping 2025 featured a powerful lineup of conferences and forums including the Ocean Leadership Conference, TradeWinds Shipowners Forum, Blue Talks, and Ocean Invest, covering critical themes such as:

📡 Digitalization in the Maritime Industry

🌱 Alternative Fuels and Decarbonization

👩‍✈️ The Rise of Women Leaders in Maritime

🛳️ Future-Proofing Global Trade and Innovation

With "Future-Proof" as this year’s theme, the event emphasized the importance of adaptability in the face of shifting technologies, regulations, and global dynamics.

For YoungShip Bangladesh, it was a deeply rewarding experience—one that enabled us to connect with peers from across the world, exchange ideas, and be part of a truly meaningful moment in maritime leadership.

Our sincere thanks to YoungShip International and the Nor-Shipping team for their continued efforts in bringing global maritime voices together.
