YoungShip International, a professional non-profit organization for young individuals in the global maritime industry, is actively seeking a Secretary General. Founded in Norway in 2004, YoungShip’s network now spans 37 departments worldwide with over 5000 members. We are dedicated to fostering a deeper understanding of the maritime industry among our members and promoting young entrepreneurs focused on environmental challenges, social responsibility, and green technology innovation.

As Secretary General, you will be at the helm of our organization’s administration, responsible for delivering on commitments to our partners, supporting our 37 global departments, and actively promoting the maritime industry.

We are looking for a candidate with a strong interest in the industry, characterized by independence, proactivity, rapid learning, and technical acumen. Excellent communication skills are essential, and therefore full English proficiency is a requirement.

The Secretary General will be based in Norway – preferably Oslo and must be self-employed (enkeltmannsforetak), working under a service agreement. The position is flexible, with services provided on an hourly basis, estimated to be a 30% role. The Secretary General will work closely with the YoungShip International board and maintain regular communication with the President.

The position is available from March 2024, with an expected commitment of 2 years.
