YoungShip Oslo is proud to invite both members and non-members to YSO Marine Summit 2026! An afternoon dedicated to insight, discussion and future of maritime industry. We will gather major industry players and young talents for topical panel debates and the opportunity for academic and professional development.

The conference will be held at Norges Rederiforbund on 4 June. The doors will open at 12:00 and the sessions will end at 16:30. The day will be concluded Maximus Trattoria at where we will meet at 18:00 for a banquet and networking.

The conference will be highly interactive and shaped by the audience in the room. Building on the format from ShipCon 2024, all attendees will have the opportunity to engage directly with the panel by submitting questions through a dedicated event app.

Negotiation in a Global Maritime Industry

The workshop offers a short crash course on how to become a better negotiator in a global and complex maritime industry. The focus will be on concrete skills and practical tools, with particular emphasis on:

  • How to build effective negotiation strategies in practice
  • Cultural differences in international negotiations
  • How to handle power imbalances in negotiation situations
  • What characterizes strong negotiators in a global industry

The aim is to give participants insights they can directly apply in their studies and future careers.

AI in Practice – Tools, Insights and Real-World Applications
Led by Tom Einar Nyberg, KPMG

This session offers a short, practical introduction to how artificial intelligence is being used in today’s working world. The focus will be on concrete examples and hands-on demonstrations, showing how AI can support and improve everyday work tasks across industries.

The workshop will cover:

  • How AI is currently being used in practice across relevant industries
  • Practical demonstrations of AI in analysis, decision-making, and daily workflows
  • What young professionals should understand about AI and start using today
