Celebrating 20 years in Oslo!
20 years of YoungShip Oslo!
We invite you to an evening of networking, discussion, dining, and dancing as we mark the 20th anniversary of YoungShip Oslo. The evening will begin with a panel discussion on the topic: “What is the greatest strategic risk – or opportunity – your sector must prepare for in global shipping over the next 10 years?”. We’ve invited five key industry players to share their insights, with our very own YoungShip member, Stephan Johansen, moderating the conversation. Following the discussion, we’ll gather for a formal dinner to celebrate this special milestone. The night will conclude with networking and dancing.
We have booked both nice weather and Roklubben at Bygdøy for the evening, and look forward to celebrating the road YoungShip has travelled. We invite all members, with early-bird tickets available until July 20. A limited number of tickets will be reserved for YoungShip Oslo alumni and special friends. YoungShip Oslo at 20
After 20 years of youngshipping in Oslo, we have truly come far. Together with our longtime partners in the Norwegian Shipowners’ Association and Nor-Shipping, as well as new partners such as Oslo Maritime Stiftelse and Oslo Rederiforening, YoungShip Oslo have stepped up to become the heart of a thriving young generation on the Oslo shipping scene.
For Oslo to remain one of the main centres of international shipping, a steady stream of new talent to the industry is a must, and YoungShip Oslo contributes to ensuring that young people gain friends and a network in the industry, hopefully resulting in a higher probability of remaining in shipping. In later years, YoungShip has stepped up and are taking this challenge head-on. We are today around 500 active members, with around 30 volunteers working to keep up the activity, hosting on average about 2 events a month. We have increased responsibility during Nor-Shipping and are also capable of hosting major conferences of our own, such as ShipCon in 2024.
During the summer event we will look ahead at the next 10 years. What lies in the waters going forwards? The world is changing, and where will Oslo be as a shipping centre in 2035? We hope to see you there with us, joining in the discussion!
