We are proud to mark a significant milestone in global maritime collaboration with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between YoungShip International and the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers that concluded on the 27th of March 2026 in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

This partnership is more than a formal agreement, it is a shared commitment to shaping the future of our industry by investing in its most valuable asset: people.

By combining ICS’s globally recognised professional qualifications, mentorship, and industry expertise with YoungShip’s dynamic network of over 5,000 young professionals across 40+ chapters, we are creating meaningful pathways for the next generation to learn, connect, and lead.

This directly supports YoungShip International’s mission to Attract, Develop and Retain young professionals in the Maritime Industry — with this agreement significantly reinforcing the Develop pillar.

From joint educational initiatives and knowledge-sharing platforms to increased access to global networks, this collaboration is designed to empower young maritime professionals with the tools they need to thrive in an increasingly complex and evolving industry.

As highlighted during the ceremony, in today’s uncertain world, success in shipping will not be defined by knowledge alone, but by continuous learning, strong networks, and sound judgement.
