We had an exciting programme for the NorShipping week to facilitate networking between YoungShip members and other professionals from the international maritime community.
The annual Shipping Cup took place on Saturday 4 November at Manglerud Sports Arena. In a historic feat, the YoungShip team went thru to the finals – after playing against Willis, Clarksons, AON, Hoegh Autoliners & Klaveness. Culminating into a historic second place against Pareto (losing 1-2 in a tight and exciting match).

In particular, if implementing alternative fuels technology may accelerate the process to meet emission goals and ambitions established for the future. For this occasion, we have the great pleasure to speak with Øyvind Sekkesæter, environmental consultant at DNV.

During the summer, Youngship Oslo had the pleasure to interview Jon Halvard Bolstad Olsen from Yara Marine Technologies, with focus on ammonia as an alternative fuel for the shipping industry. We will cover advantages, disadvantages, and how ammonia may affect the world`s power balance or OPEC countries. Eventually, we must ask ourselves, is ammonia the most promising zero-carbon shipping fuel?
