UPM has set the bar high for the forestry industry to meet tomorrows environmental expectations. With their investment in an fleet of environmentally friendly and smart LNG fueled vessels that will enter in operations in 2022, Lauri Rikala, the director of Global Break Bulk Shipping at UPM explained in an article produced by UPM in late 2021 "UPM Logistics acts as a carrier in a number of European traffic areas with time charter vessels. As part of our company's continuous focus on sustainability, we are constantly on the lookout for different ways and means to improve our fleet's energy efficiency, while reducing emissions and fuel consumption."
