LVM (Ministry of Transport and Communications) announced in December last year (find the press release here) that Finland seeks a place at the heart of IMO to promote sustainable and safe shipping.
In addition, LVM has established a specific Maritime Transport Team with the mission of handling different maritime topical matters. Eero Hokkanen, Ministerial Adviser is set to lead the 12 people-strong team covering the topics from climate and environmental issues and affairs, automation and digitalization, maritime safety, inland waterway transport, vessel traffic services, and seafarer and pilot interests.
