A big thank you to Bergen Shipowners' Association (Bergens Rederiforening) for an incredible collaboration and a highly successful event on Thursday, 7th of November. The evening was a fantastic blend of engaging presentations, insightful discussions and valuable networking.
Kristoffer Ramstad from Odfjell SE opened the seminar by sharing Odfjell's digitalization journey. He highlighted the company's effort in developing software solutions from the ground up, emphasizing how these developments have connected ship and shore.
Next, Camilla Heggøy from DOF provided an insightful presentation on how they used digitalization to improve performance evaluation by leveraging data. She also stated the importance of capturing essential data from vessels and highlighted that "It is hard to improve what you can't measure".
To finish of the seminar, Kristin Helen Andersen from G2 Ocean delivered a highly perceptive presentation on cyber security. She explained how digitalization has transformed the IT infrastructure and how the IT security landscape has evolved over the past years, offering an informative perspective on current challenges.

Recap of Wikborg Rein x YoungShip
On Tuesday, 24th of September, YoungShip Bergen hosted a highly successful event together with Wikborg Rein, Norway's most international law firm. The event was held at their impressive new office, providing a fitting and modern backdrop, setting the perfect atmosphere for a great evening.
The event kicked off with casual networking, where delicious pizza and refreshing drinks were served to offer a welcome break after a hectic workday. We were then fortunate to be joined by Geir Ove Røberg, one of Wikborg Rein's esteemed lawyers, who gave us an engaging presentation on negotiation tactics. His talk covered various types of negotiations and key strategies followed by a walkthrough of a negotiation process. To conclude, he highlighted common mistakes often made in negotiations, offering plenty of practical tips and tricks for us all to take away, leaving everyone with valuable takeaways for both in their professional and personal lives. Truly inspiring!
Following the presentation, the lively networking continued, allowing the attendees to build new and stronger connections while discussing the theme of the presentation before we rounded night at Bark for our traditional Ankerdram.

Geir Ove has been with Wikborg Rein his whole professional career and is working in our shipping & offshore group.
